Caroline joined Carbone 4 in January 2023 to lead the scenario development team of the IF initiative. The IF initiative develops a systemic model to confront companies' strategic foresight scenarios with the physical realities of planetary boundaries (resources, climate, biodiversity). The initiative brings together some fifteen major companies from various industries and leading academic partners in design, management and engineering.

Previously, Caroline acquired 10 years of experience in innovation consulting and research. She has advised many start-ups and large companies in France, the United States and Asia to imagine and develop new products, services and business models. She ensures that each project meets 3 requirements:

- a real user need & a positive social impact,

- financial profitability, and

- the reduction of negative impacts on climate and the environment.

Caroline is convinced that several brains are better than one, and values listening to and co-building with her coworkers and clients. She puts her design skills at the service of creativity and users’ understanding of complex and surprising content.

Caroline PhD thesis focused on institutional change and the role of "hybrid" organizations, such as sovereign wealth funds, to include environmental and social dimensions into investment practices and regional planning. She has developed expertise in the joint use of qualitative (interviews, observations and workshops) and quantitative (statistics, network analysis, unsupervised AI algorithms) methods that she puts at the service of her research and consulting activities.

Caroline is the author of several books, chapters, scientific articles, and reports about sustainable cities and districts, innovation in financing and regional and urban planning, and changes in design practices. She co-taught courses in project finance, entrepreneurship and a seminar on the Habitat III conference at Stanford.
