Carbone 4 is setting up operations in Lyon in 2020

Thethe climate emergency, resource scarcity, and global imbalances will lead to profound changes in our societies. Awareness of these disruptions (for example, among investors or end customers), changes in behavior, and the numerous examples of extreme weather events, supply disruptions, or declines in production—all of these are phenomena that will only intensify.
The the urgent need to decarbonize our production methods and lifestyles therefore involves impact on the economic landscape. This is an opportunity to rethink business models, build resilience in companies so they can adapt to this new climate reality, and minimize their impact.
- How can we work toward carbon neutrality and become key players in this new reality?
- How do these initiatives play out in the day-to-day operations of companies?
- How are they changing business models?
- How can we turn this transformation into a source of opportunities and projects that bring people together?
On October 17, 2019, Carbone 4 organized its Lyon's first event to discuss his method for supporting businesses in reducing their impact on the climate, but also in minimizing the impact of the climate on their business. This event also marks our future location in Lyon, scheduled during 2020. To mark the occasion, a roundtable discussion followed by a cocktail reception was held with a a wide range of businesses, organizations, and local governmentsin the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region at the Hôtel Dieu.
The Carbone 4 team wanted to give a voice to three prominent figures from major companies with a strong presence in the region and having developed a Practical experience with decarbonization in terms of strategic issues on the one hand, and managerial and cultural transformations on the other. Furthermore, these are representatives of Three key sectors for the energy transition: the building sector, energy production, and mobility.

"Our short-term goal is the complete elimination of fossil fuels. This is a revolution for us." - Guy Sidos, CEO of the Vicat Group;
"We are doing our best to use water wisely, as it will become increasingly scarce." - Elisabeth Ayrault, CEO of CNR;
“At Michelin, we are aware of the role we can play—especially by learning from companies smaller than ours.” - Valerie Bouillon-Delporte, Hydrogen Strategic Leader at Michelin.
In particular, it was an opportunity to exchange views with the various stakeholders on the the challenges and opportunities arising from the current climate and environmental context. The entire Carbone 4 team is looking forward to embarking on this new adventure and working on the innovative projects that will come out of it!
