Conference: Physical Climate Risk: A Key Issue for the Financial Sector
Florian Gallo, a consultant at Carbone 4, participated in a panel discussion at the I4CE conference on climate risk and finance.
Climate change has had—and will continue to have—an impact on the real economy, as illustrated by the recent bankruptcy of the California energy company PG&E following the wildfires that ravaged that U.S. state. Financial institutions must begin today to assess their exposure to this new risk: physical climate risk.
How do they measure this risk? What do they need to improve?
To discuss these issues, the Institute for Climate Economics (I4CE) and Caisse des Dépôts hosted a breakfast meeting on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 in Paris.
