Following another summer marked by extreme weather events, Carbone 4 held a
morning session focused on physical climate risks in the industrial sector, in order to demonstrate how to understand and assess a company's resilience to the effects of climate change.
Beyond the reporting aspect, what are the tangible impacts of future climate events on business, and what solutions are available to prepare for them?
Following an introduction by Jean-Marc Jancovici, Violaine Lepousez, Clément Ory, and Florian Gallo—a manager and senior consultants at Carbone 4—led the first part of the morning session to address the following questions:
- What climate-related physical risks exist for industries and value chains?
- What role does it play in the CAC 40’s climate reporting?
- What approaches can be used to identify, assess, and integrate these risks?
In the second part, Jean-Marie Sol, an agronomist and director at Bonduelle, shared his experience with the support provided by Carbone 4 in developing and implementing a climate risk analysis program for the company’s operations.
