Carbone 4 Morning Session: At the Heart of the Transition: Climate Challenges for Infrastructure Managers and Investors

"95% of the carbon budget that must not be exceeded to keep global warming below +2°C is already tied up in existing infrastructure" (International Energy Agency).
Infrastructure is an asset class at the heart of the transition.
Indeed, the infrastructure developed today will determine the success or failure of the Paris Agreement and the 2°C target. These long-term assets are also highly exposed to transition risks (new economic conditions, carbon pricing, technological breakthroughs, standards, etc.) and physical risks (global warming, rising sea levels, more severe droughts, more frequent heat waves…). All of these Challenges and Opportunities for Infrastructure Investors and Managers.
On June 4, 2019, Carbone 4 held a morning session to address the following issues:
- What climate strategy should be implemented at the portfolio level?
- How can we reduce exposure to climate risks?
- How can we assess the portfolio’s alignment with a 2°C pathway?

Speakers at this event included Ginette Borduas (ESG Compliance Officer / Meridiam), Mark Lewis (Global Head of Sustainability Research / BNP Paribas Asset Management), Jean-Yves Wilmotte, and Sylvain Borie (Carbone 4).
