Carbone 4 Launches “NZI for Apparel and Footwear”
Carbone 4 is pleased to launch its very first industry-specific adaptation of the principles of the Net Zero Initiative for the apparel sector. The NZI for Apparel and Footwear is a new community of companies and experts that will work to develop new rules and guidelines for the textile industry’s specific contribution to global net-zero.
This group's top priority will be to address the challenge of quantifying emissions avoided through certain industry solutions, such as eco-design, repair, and secondhand goods. It will draw on the Guide to Pillar B of the Net Zero Initiative (June 2022) and on the NZI x WBCSD Guide on Avoided Emissions (April 2023), which provided a solid methodological foundation for calculating and analyzing emissions avoided across all sectors.
A big thank you to the founding members of this community: Chloé, Decathlon, Hermès, Intersport, Louboutin, LVMH, and Picture Organic Clothing.
