“While the electrification of passenger cars is well underway—with electric cars accounting for 20% of car sales in France by 2025—the electrification of heavy-duty trucks remains marginal, accounting for only 2% of sales. Yet heavy-duty trucks account for nearly a quarter of the transportation sector’s carbon emissions. So how can we accelerate the transition in a sector where technological and logistical barriers have been overcome?”
"Because it is wise to start planning now for a gradual phase-out of diesel," said Nicolas Meunier, head of our Transport Division, takes a look today at this challenge and the need that the transportation sector—and heavy-duty trucks in particular—must address in the face of the accelerating challenges posed by climate change.
