While the financial sector may not seem, at first glance, to be directly linked to energy and climate issues, it is in fact a key driver for a successful transition to a low-carbon world. Indeed, through its investments, the financial sector shapes our economy and our societies, and has a major role to play in the energy and climate transition of other sectors.
Successfully navigating this transition requires rethinking the traditional allocation of investments and financing in order to support sectors that will help decarbonize the economy, preserve ecosystems, and assist high-emission sectors in reducing their greenhouse gas emissions.
