
Low-carbon hydrogen: What are its relevant applications in the medium term in a decarbonized world?

Complying with the Paris Agreement means “avoiding the unmanageable” by limiting the worsening of climate change. To do this, we need a significant and rapid reduction in greenhouse gas emissions—and, in particular, we must phase out fossil fuels.
To achieve this, one small molecule is generating a lot of hope: hydrogen! Although it has a low carbon footprint, it could be one of the keys to the energy transition, while also strengthening our independence.
To inform the public debate, Carbone 4 conducted a forward-looking study on the potential of low-carbon hydrogen by 2030 for 11 applications across industry, mobility, and energy networks.
